Maybe you were born with the #creative gene like our founder Diana, I know I wish I was, because today it seems that everyone is turning to a more creative outlet to #reducestress and simply unplug. But what if you are not like the Dianas of the world? Don’t fret, there are plenty of ways to get your creative juices flowing. It is just a matter of tapping into them.
"GATHER. CREATE. DO GOOD." -Diana Polack
It all starts with a mindset. I find that curiosity sparks creativity. Start by turning your “I can’t” into “what if”. Let’s be honest, children really can’t draw when they start out, but there is no little voice in their head that tells them that they can’t. They approach a sheet of paper and a pack of crayons with such openness that they have no trouble putting something on the page. Just watching them, you can see that they too are wondering “what” their creation will turn out to be. Be open and let the creativity will flow.
Speaking of children, what did you love to do when you were a child? Take a walk down memory lane and remember those lazy summer afternoons when you had all the time in the world. What inspired you then? Did you go on nature walks and collect things? Did you sit and draw? Did you make friendship bracelets? If you liked to collect things, maybe try scrapbooking.
Groups are also a fun way to get your creativity flowing. Gather the family together or have a Girls Night In! It is fun and easy to host your own art making night and hey, why not support a good cause while you are at it.
